Belfast Mini Coach gives you the chance to see the world of Westeros with our Game of Thrones Film Locations Tour. Visit some of the main locations used in the hit HBO series in all of their natural beauty as we visit 7 of Northern Ireland’s prime film locations.
Our journey starts as we make our way up the Antrim Coast Road, travelling through the 9 Glens of Antrim, an area of outstanding natural beauty. During our travels through the stunning scenery of the glens, we learn of the areas local history as we weave past and take in other well-known parts of Westeros.
As we drive northwards towards the premier locations of our tour, we stop off at Carnlough Harbour, where, in Season 6, Arya Stark escapes the Waif by jumping into the freezing water and crawling up the steps to the streets of Braavos. Before we hit the North Coast, we visit the Cushendun Caves where Melisandre’s game birth to the shadow baby. Following a lunch break, we’ll have a photo stop at Larrybane and Carrick-a-Rede, the site of Renly Baratheon’s Camp.
Despite no filming of Game of Thrones taking place here, we’ll visit the famous Giant’s Causeway. The stories of giants and fairies that inhabit this area in Irish mythology are every bit in keeping with the Game of Thrones theme.
Our penultimate stop on the Game of Thrones tour sees us visit the ancient ruins of Dunluce Castle. In the HBO show, Dunluce Castle is transformed into House of Greyjoy, ruler of the Iron Islands. This wonderful castle perched on the edge of the cliffs is another fantastic photo opportunity.
Finally! The most iconic Game of Thrones location, makes the next stop on our tour, the Dark Hedges, or the Kings Road as it is better known in the HBO series. Our cloaks and swords give you the opportunity to great photos at this location.
